CAPRI’S FARAONE MENNELLA COMES TO PALM BEACH’S VIA COQUINA
Although Faraone Mennella is one of Capri’s most famed jewelry boutiques, the late, namesake designer actually found fame in New York City–not Capri. And like a true, Hollywood story, it all began on the set of Sex & the City. That’s right, Mennella was discovered by fashion designer and Sex & the City wardrobe stylist, Patricia Field, when Carrie Bradshaw was in need for a cameo necklace. It was Mennella’s design that donned Sarah Jessica Parker’s neck in an episode, and that “cameo appearance” would be the beginning of a long standing collaboration between Mennella and Field. In fact, Field loved donning her plucky protagonists in Faraone Mennella’s Stella earrings, the semi-precious encrusted parabolic hoops that became hotter than a night out with Samantha (Kim Cattrall).

Today, Amedeo Scognamiglio, Roberto Faraone Mennella’s long-standing life and business partner, (the duo met in Italy, studied law in Naples and then high-tailed it in tandem to NYC) continues the brand’s expansion with a gorgeous new collection. In Palm Beach, it is found exclusively at Via Coquina. February 1 Scognamiglio will visit Via Coquina’s Palm Beach boutique to meet with fans and showcase both his daytime looks and his more bespoke couture pieces.
